The Gastrodiplomacy Boot Camp brings together chefs, policymakers, and tourism experts in Pollica, Cilento, at the heart of the Mediterranean, to explore how gastronomy can influence international relations and promote sustainable practices.
This unique experience will reveal the power of creativity and culinary activism to revolutionize global food systems. Chefs and food professionals are agents of change, shaping how we interact with food and the environment.
The program is delivered by the Future Food Institute in collaboration with a distinguished network of international experts, researchers, chefs, and practitioners. A key partner in this journey is Professor Peter Klosse, Ph.D., one of the world’s leading researchers in flavor science and the founder of the Vital Gastronomy Institute. Drawing on more than three decades of research, including the development of the T.A.S.T.E. methodology, and as the author of The Essence of Gastronomy (CRCpress), Professor Klosse contributes his pioneering perspective on gastronomy as one of the most powerful yet underutilized levers for food system transformation. His expertise enriches the Boot Camp’s exploration of how flavor, pleasure, health, and sustainability can work together to inspire meaningful change.
