Dive into a unique experience exploring the depths of marine ecosystems alongside those who live in the sea every day. Sailing with local fishermen, you’ll discover the wonders and challenges of the Mediterranean, learning what we can do to actively protect our oceans. This immersive Boot Camp is based on experiential learning, challenge, and action. Through a hands-on and interactive approach, you’ll explore, experiment, and work in teams to find real-world solutions.
In Cilento, the heart of the Mediterranean Diet and marine biodiversity, you’ll develop skills in problem-solving, sustainable innovation, and integral ecology, collaborating with experts and professionals in the field.

Become a guardian of the sea

A journey to discover small-scale fishing, protected marine areas, and the heritage of the Mediterranean Diet, to understand how the sea and its ecosystems can promote health and well-being. The summer camp combines ecology, marine philosophy, and sustainable lifestyles, going beyond traditional marine science approaches. Through workshops, practical activities, and immersive experiences, participants will become guardians of marine biodiversity. Finally, they will take part in a two-day Hackathon to develop concrete solutions to real challenges, contributing to the well-being of the local community.

Program

This program is designed for high school students passionate about not only natural sciences but also food, health, and sustainability. It is the perfect experience for those who want to explore the link between tradition and innovation to build a healthier and more sustainable future. Selected participants will work alongside fishermen, scientists, and marine ecosystem experts, becoming key players in rediscovering the Mediterranean. Using design thinking and prosperity thinking methodologies, they will co-design concrete solutions for the creation of Italy’s first Experimental Marine Area in Cilento.
